Lifelong Memories
Being a part of the Stingrays swim team is a great opportunity for your child to make new friends in our community. Many of the friendships established among the team last a lifetime. The summer swim league has introduced many children to swimming and has helped develop a lifelong love of the sport.
Welcome to All
You don’t have to be a member of the Hyde Park Swim and Tennis Club to join the swim team! Swimmers age 18 and under are welcome to join. The Stingrays are one of eight teams in the Dutchess and Ulster Swim Organization (DUSO). The swim team season is approximately six weeks long and culminates with a championship meet.
Building Community
Our team also offers many opportunities for social interaction when the swimmers are out of the pool. We enjoy a team spirit night prior to DUSO championships, a Stingray family awards potluck at the end of our season, and much more! Our coaches are a dedicated team of lifelong swimmers, and many of them have gone through our programs from early childhood.
Fees
Members: $85.00 per swimmer ($210.00 family rate for 3 or more swimmers).
Non-members: $210.00 per swimmer.
Non-member payment is due at the time of registration.
These fees include the required DUSO league insurance fee.

Cancellations
Make-up meets and other general important notices are announced here and on our Facebook page. Please check periodically in cases of inclement weather. Sign up for Remind on your mobile device to receive important team notifications!
Bake Sales
At each meet, the home team sponsors a fundraising bake sale. All Stingray families are asked to donate a baked item (cookies, brownies, muffins, cupcakes), whole fruit (bananas, apples, sliced watermelon), donuts, cereal bars, etc. for individual sale. Items range from $0.25 to $1.00.
Missing a Meet
If your child will miss a meet for any reason, please let one of our coaches know ASAP. The courtesy of advance notice is requested to help in planning for meet events.
Weekly Team Breakfast
Each Thursday, to unwind and celebrate our team, we host a team breakfast. Parents volunteer to help set up and serve a light buffet of goodies and breakfast items for the team to enjoy. A sign up list for your donations is located in the breezeway. Items are pre-selected for your convenience. Please also consider helping us set up and take down the buffet.
Parent Involvement
Parental participation is an integral part of the function of our team. There will be a sign up list posted on the bulletin board in the HPSTC breezeway for parent volunteers. Swim meets cannot run smoothly without your help! We request that each family sign up for a volunteer post at every meet.
Spirit Night
This is a fun Stingray family event that is held before the DUSO championships (date TBA). We all come out in our yellow and blue to let off some steam and have some fun before our final meet!
Swim Meet Volunteer Jobs
Volunteer positions for each meet include timers, officials, starters, referees, announcers, runners, sorters/ribbons, bullpen, scorers, computers, and 50/50 coordinators.
Team Suits
Swimmers are encouraged to purchase our team suit. We offer this opportunity either online or at the Club through the Deep End Swim Shop. 10% of all Stingray purchases come back to our team. Team caps are also available for purchase at the Club. Swim suits, caps, and goggles are available at www.thedeependonline.com. The Deep End will be at the Club at a date to be announced later.
